Who we are
Amaurim is a household goods retailer operating the website amaurim.pro. Our registered place of business is 765 N 10500 W, Ogden, UT 84404, United States. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Amaurim is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
This policy explains what information we collect when you use amaurim.pro or contact our support team, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you. It applies to this website and to the customer support and order fulfilment activities connected with it. It does not apply to any third-party website you might reach by leaving ours.
If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected] or call +1 (801) 731-7971 and we will explain it in plain terms.
Information we collect
We collect as little as we reasonably can, and we group it into three categories.
Information you give us directly
When you complete the contact form, request an organisation plan, place an order or email our support desk, you may provide your name, email address, telephone number, delivery and billing address, the subject of your enquiry and the content of your message. If you ask us to plan a space, you may also send measurements and photographs of that space. Where you request samples or spare parts, we record which items were sent so we can answer follow-up questions accurately.
Information collected automatically
Our web server records standard technical information each time a page is requested: the internet protocol address making the request, the date and time, the page or file requested, the referring page where one is supplied, and basic browser and operating system identifiers. This information is generated by the act of browsing itself and is used for security monitoring, fault diagnosis and aggregate traffic measurement.
Information from cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and equivalent browser storage mechanisms. Essential storage remembers your cookie choices and keeps the site functioning. Optional analytics and personalisation storage is used only where you have enabled it. Full detail, and controls, appear on our Cookie Preferences page.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for, and do not want, government identification numbers, health information, biometric data or information about children. We do not buy contact lists, and we do not run behavioural advertising trackers on this website. We do not sell personal information to anybody, in any circumstance.
How and why we use your information
We use personal information only for purposes you would reasonably expect from a household goods retailer:
- To answer you. Responding to enquiries, preparing organisation plans, quoting projects and confirming spare-part availability.
- To fulfil orders. Processing payment, arranging delivery, handling returns and honouring our two-year workmanship cover.
- To provide aftercare. Keeping a record of what you purchased so we can identify the correct replacement part years later.
- To operate the website securely. Detecting abuse, diagnosing faults and protecting the site against unauthorised access.
- To improve what we stock. Reviewing aggregated, non-identifying patterns in enquiries and returns to inform which products we carry.
- To meet legal obligations. Retaining transaction records for tax, accounting and consumer protection purposes.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on the performance of a contract with you for order fulfilment, our legitimate interest in operating a secure and useful website for technical logging, your consent for optional cookies and any marketing messages, and compliance with legal obligations for financial record keeping.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal effects, and we do not profile you for advertising purposes.
When we share information
We share personal information only where it is necessary to do the job you have asked of us, and only with organisations bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Shipping carriers receive the name, delivery address and telephone number needed to complete a delivery.
- Payment processors handle card details directly; we receive confirmation of payment and a truncated card reference, never the full card number.
- Professional advisers such as our accountants and auditors may see transaction records where required for statutory work.
- Public authorities receive information only where we are legally compelled, and we will tell you unless prohibited from doing so.
We do not share information with advertising networks, data brokers or social media platforms. If Amaurim were ever involved in a merger or sale of the business, customer information would transfer only as part of that transaction and would remain subject to this policy until you were notified otherwise.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as it serves the purpose for which it was collected.
| Record type | Retention period |
|---|---|
| General enquiry correspondence | 24 months from last contact |
| Organisation plans and measurements | 24 months, then deleted |
| Order and purchase records | 7 years, for tax and warranty purposes |
| Warranty and spare-part history | 5 years after the cover period ends |
| Web server technical logs | 90 days, then overwritten |
| Cookie preference record | Stored on your own device until you clear it |
When a retention period expires we delete the information or irreversibly anonymise it so that it can no longer be linked to you.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. We extend the substance of these choices to every customer, regardless of state of residence.
- Access — ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Correction — have inaccurate or incomplete information put right.
- Deletion — ask us to erase information we no longer need to keep.
- Portability — receive your information in a common machine-readable format.
- Objection and restriction — object to processing based on legitimate interests, or ask us to pause it while a concern is investigated.
- Withdraw consent — change cookie choices at any time, or unsubscribe from any message we send.
- Non-discrimination — exercise any of these rights without being charged a different price or given a lesser service.
To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy request”, or call us. We respond within 30 days and will tell you promptly if we need longer for a complex request. We may ask a question or two to confirm your identity, purely so that we do not disclose your information to somebody else.
California residents may exercise these rights through an authorised agent, and we confirm that Amaurim has not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising in the preceding twelve months.
How we protect information
We apply security measures proportionate to the sensitivity of what we hold. All traffic to and from amaurim.pro is encrypted in transit. Administrative access to customer records is limited to staff whose role requires it, protected by individual accounts and multi-factor authentication, and reviewed periodically. Payment card data is handled by our payment processor and never stored on our own systems.
No system is perfect, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. If a breach were to affect your personal information in a way likely to cause harm, we would notify you and the relevant authorities without undue delay, describing what happened and what we were doing about it.
International transfers and children
Amaurim operates from the United States and serves customers in the United States. Personal information is stored on servers located in the United States. If you contact us from elsewhere, you should understand that your information will be processed in the United States under United States law.
Our products are household goods intended for adult purchasers. This website is not directed at children, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of sixteen, and if we discovered that we had done so we would delete it promptly. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided us with information should contact us so that we can remove it.
Changes to this policy and how to contact us
We review this policy at least annually and whenever we change how we handle personal information. When we make a material change we update the date shown at the top of this page and, where the change significantly affects your rights, we highlight it on the site so that you are not expected to spot it unaided. Earlier versions are available on request.
